Hello, I’m Jacqui Hanbury product manager at Festo. I’d like to introduce you to our new VTUG valve terminal. This aluminum sub-base module can support up to 24 valves on one manifold with a choice of electrical connections. Not just individual connections to each valve and multi-pin, but also connections to industry-standard communication networks. Let’s have a look in detail.
Within the 24 positions, you have a choice of valve functions, including two separate three, two valves in one position, providing up to 48 valve functions on one manifold. Pneumatically the manifold can be supplied with pressure at three different points. And also using small plugs can be zoned where required as you can see here.
Perhaps these features would allow you to reduce the number of valve terminals in your application. Reducing cost and footprint. In addition, air quality only needs to be maintained at 40 microns, enabling a reduction in costs of air preparation equipment, and, air usage.
Porting is available on the top of the valves and on the side or the base of the manifold. Port sizes can be individually specified with a different size for each valve as required. A considerable amount of time and effort can be saved in the building of a control cabinet by mounting a base ported manifold directly on the cabinet wall, eliminating individual bulkhead connections.
A labeling system enables quick and easy identification of each valve and its function. Electrically. The VTUG can be fitted with a multi-pin connector like this, in either subsidy or flat cable styles. If you wish to use a communication network, it couldn’t be easier.
Swap the multi-pin plate for this M 12 connector module, which communicates to the industry standard IO link or fit a specific CTU network module. Choose the correct one for your network without having to change the pneumatics. And using the M 12 connector. You can also reduce costs by using a splitter module like this one.
How about one connection to a valve terminal and the other to an input module for your cylinder switches. And we four connections directly onto our market-leading CPX automation platform, you can distribute valves and IO as required.
Coupled with our online configurator, you can select exactly what modules you require. Their position on the manifold and the whole unit is delivered, built, and tested, ready for you to mount directly on your machines. Saving you time in build and installation costs, as well as, costly fault-finding if you had to build the terminal yourself. So why don’t you contact us now to see how the new Festo valve ranges can help you save time and money in your application?
